Unique record of Slovak crown
– ONLY IN TATRALANDIA!


From 2009 Slovakia has a new currency - Euro. Slovak crown only remains in history of our country.

A great remembrance of the Slovak crown is now situated in Tatralandia! The Tatra Madonna is the biggest mosaic in the world and is made of 115 000 pieces of Slovak currency.

The Tatra Madonna was created on the motives of academic painter Marián Prešnajder. It reflects God Mother – Madonna with child, little Jesus. She is a symbol of Christianity, protection, maternity, hope and help.

The ceremonial act of revelation of the mosaic took place on 16th June 2006 in Aquapark Tatralandia near Liptovský Mikuláš. Madonna is composed from three types of Slovak coins – 50 halier coins (copper), 50 halier coins (aluminium) and 1 crown coins (yellow brass). The monument covers the surface of 52,5 m2 and you can find it in the entrance area of Aquapark Tatralandia near Liptovský Mikuláš, close to the access road.

This unique piece of art is recorded in the Guinness book of records. So when you visit Tatralandia next time, don’t forget to see this masterpiece to gather new spiritual energy.
